Date: September 11th 2008
During this month, Muslims are observing the month of Ramadan by fasting from sunup to sundown. It is a custom during this time to invite others to break the fast together at an evening iftar meal, and this has become an opportunity in recent years for non-Muslims to learn about the meaning of Ramadan. Several local mosques and Muslim communities in conjunction with CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) are sponsoring special Ramadan open houses and iftar meals. Here is a chance to meet your neighbors and learn more about them.
All gatherings include a complimentary dinner. Because space is limited and food must be prepared, please be sure to register ahead of time. You can do that at myvillage.us/profile/profile.asp?/my/ramadan
