Religious Leaders Dialogue Group

Diane Fisher of the Jewish Community Relations Council will provide a vegetarian lunch. Please RSVP to southbayinterfaith@yahoo.com by Wednesday, June 16 to assist Diane in planning (if you have already sent an RSVP there is no need to do so again).

We will be hearing from the directors of the Marin Interfaith Council, the San Francisco Interfaith Council, and the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County about their organizations, experiences, and advice as we continue working out what kind of interfaith/multifaith organization would best serve the needs of the South Bay. Please share this invitation with your colleagues; any interested religious leaders are welcome.

In the months since the beginning of 2010, members of the Interreligious Leaders Dialogue Group originally sponsored by SVFACES have held several serious conversations about the future shape of interreligious organization and cooperation in the South Bay. On May 12, over 40 people from the diverse religious communities of the South Bay met together and agreed to proceed with creating a multifaith group. A Planning Group of twelve people was appointed to develop a proposal for forming such a group. The Planning Group has met several times and will report to the gathering on June 17th.
